Agronomic Performance of Broomrape Resistant and Susceptible Faba Bean Accession

The faba bean (Vicia faba) is a temperate grain legume, that regaining interest due to the high demand for food and feed uses environmental services provided. parasitic weed broomrape (Orobanche crenata) appears as major constraint agricultural production in Mediterranean Basin. yield stability can be managed by adjusting agronomic practices breeding adaptation. In this study, we compared performance of three susceptible accessions with eight lines previously selected their resistance, multi-environment field trials. Results confirmed region was negatively affected, mainly infection, followed at distance ascochyta blight (Ascochyta fabae), whereas little affected low occurring levels chocolate spot infection (Botrytis fabae). favored rain flowering reduced temperatures pre-flowering flowering, grain-filling. combined ANOVA showed significant effects genotype, environment, genotypex environment interaction. weighted average absolute scores biplot (WAASB), heat map 21 scenarios based on WAASB ratio multi-trait index (MTSI) were utilized determine mean genotypes. Quijote, Navio6, Baraca FaraonSC are proposed ideal cultivation further used future programs.
